Getting retired is in your hands but playing for India is not in your hands’, Rohit got a big warning

India vs Australia: The Border Gavaskar Trophy Test series was very bad for captain Rohit Sharma. Elliott played three matches where he was able to accumulate only 31 runs and a lot of wrath was poured on him for his bad performance. Now Sanjay Manjrekar has warned Rohit in bulk regarding retirement.

Rohit himself decided to leave out of the playing eleven

Sanjay Manjrekar said, ‘There was another reason behind Rohit’s interview. That was to clear the situation As far as I can see this was the intention of the greeting. I believe that Laxman was being credited for the entire decision making process for excluding Rohit Sharma especially the bold decision. He felt the need to clear his name.

During the interview, Rohit stated that he has no plans to retire anytime soon, but Manjrekar followed that up by maintaining that if his performance does not get better in the future, then he would not be part of the team.

The selectors will determine who should be on the field, and who should not be on the field.

Manjrekar said, ‘One thing that many players say is that I will decide my future myself. I have a problem with this. You can choose what happens to you in the case of retirement but the responsibilities of dictating the future of a player and captaincy fall to another person.

The chairman of selectors has to make up his mind whether you will be in the team or out of it.

It is the selectors to choose who will make it to the team and who will not.

The selectors will decide when you have to retire He said, ‘It is in your hands to retire but it is not in your hands to play for India. A position has to be respected, no matters how large the holder of the position may be.

If the chairman of selectors is a strong man and he is concerned about the well being of Indian cricket then he has every right to take the final call that whether your cricketing career comes to an end now or you should plaly a few more matches or should be included for another series.
