BCCI Orders Senior Players To Play Ranji Trophy

 BCCI has put their orders that senior players including Virat-Rohit will be punished if they have to miss out on this mainline decision.



BCCI Advised Senior Players to Play Ranji Trophy: Quite a number of senior players in the team India are on the receiving end of bad form. The worst criticism is faced by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in this regard. So much so, that from seasoned cricketers to the regular fan, everyone is telling them to go and play domestic cricket. In such circumstances a big thing has come out from the sources of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). After which senior players have been advised to play the first match of the second phase of Ranji Trophy.


Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and other big players in India cricket team will be in focus in this domesitc tournament which is starting again from January 23. However, the BCCI has been very vocal that aspiring players who neglect domestic cricket will harm their careers.


BCCI directive


It was reported in The Hindu that BCCI has advised the players to take part in Ranji Trophy. The board has opined that the players should work on their technique by playing domestic cricket and ready to perform better for India team.


One BCCI source said, “Domestic cricket must be played.” It’s not mandatory but the players have been imparted with the message that the selectors will take further action depending on their response. If the players do not heed this then they should be prepared to accept what comes with the game.


Gambhir's tough stand


Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir is also not in a favour of domestic cricket. He said, ‘Every player should play tournaments like Ranji Trophy’. Of course, it contributes to growth and has the creation of strong options for the team as a bonus. If domestic cricket is not given importance, then our team will not get players who can perform in difficult circumstances.”
