Virat Kohli-Rishabh Pant Ranji Trophy: Rishabh Pant has announced his fitness for the Ranji Trophy. Virat Kohli has also been listed in the tentative players of Delhi. It is still unclear if Kohli will play or not.


New Delhi. It is ironic that on the Australia tour Indian cricketers have received such a jolt that one after the other they are seen partaking in Ranji games. While Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have made themselves unavailable for the Ranji Trophy, Rishabh Pant has done the same as well. The DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma cleared the rumor stating that Pant will be playing for Delhi in the Ranji match against Saurashtra. This match will be played in Rajkot from 23/01.


Rishabh Pant played his last for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy in the season 2017-18. Delhi has also included Virat Kohli in the list of probable players. All these players have not confirmed participation including Kohli. If Kohli takes field against Saurashtra this will be the first instance that Kohli is going to play a Ranji match alongside Pant. Kohli’s last Ranji Trophy match was in 2011-12 season.


DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma said on Tuesday, ‘Yes, Pant has confirmed his availability for the next Ranji match and will directly join the team in Rajkot.’ But we would love Virat Kohli to have some game time as well. We have not yet got his reply. Since Harshit Rana has been chosen in the Indian T20 side, he will not be able to play for the team.” In the Ranji League stage, Delhi still has to play two matches. Delhi’s team is currently ranked fourth on the points table in Group D with 14 points from five games.


Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal are also likely to represent their state teams as well. Rohit Sharma was spotted around the Mumbai team on Tuesday only. Later he continued practicing with his Ranji team mates
